About CFO Command

Built inside an accounting firm.

Most financial software is a software company's guess at what a monthly review should look like. This one was built by the people who do the work — and it shows up in what it refuses to do.

What it stands on

Three rules the whole thing is built around.

It won't make numbers up

A missing figure reads as missing, never as zero. The monthly memo may only cite numbers traceable to your own accounts. Where a comparison is judgement rather than measurement, it says so.

A monthly rhythm, not a live feed

Your books are only as current as your bookkeeper, so every figure carries the date it came from. We would rather tell you the numbers are 40 days old than pretend they aren't.

It explains, it doesn't just display

QuickBooks shows you a balance sheet. Nobody explains it. Every term comes with a plain-English explanation written by an accountant.

Whitney Whidden, founder of Financial Growth Services

Who's behind it

Whitney Whidden

Whitney has spent more than fifteen years in accounting and finance, and runs Financial Growth Services, the firm behind CFO Command. Accounting degree from Auburn, MBA from the University of N. Alabama.

The explainers in the product are hers. So is the register the monthly memo is written in, and the judgement behind what the Command Score rewards and what it penalises.

Advisory is the firm doing that work directly — Whitney or an advisor on her team, building the dashboard around your business and walking you through it each month.

Your data

What happens to your books.

What it can see

The accounting data in the QuickBooks company you connect — P&L, balance sheet, invoices, bills, customers, bank balances.

What it cannot do

Change anything. The connection is read-only: no creating, editing or deleting anything in QuickBooks.

How you connect

Through Intuit's own authorisation screen. You sign in with Intuit, not with us, and we never see your QuickBooks password.

Who else sees it

Nobody. Your data isn't sold, rented or shared. Benchmarks come from published industry research, never from other customers' books.

If you leave

Disconnect in Settings and access is revoked immediately. Ask us and we'll delete what was already pulled.

What we don't claim

CFO Command is not SOC 2 certified, and we won't pretend otherwise. If a formal audit of a vendor's controls is a requirement for you, better to know now.
